Natal was created amongst dunes between the river and the ocean. On a coastline of dazzling beaches, complete with lakes, countryside, tours, art and cultural surprises, Natal is very green with colourful land and full of flavours… here they say summer is year-round.
With approximately 800,000 residents and known as Sun City, Natal boasts 300 days of sun per year shining down on its 20km of beaches.
The city sits in a natural, north-pointing triangle formed by the Potengi River and the Atlantic Ocean. The wind blows constantly and the air is the purest on the continent even NASA is here. . |

Founded in 1585 the picture-postcard city of João Pessoa successfully combines history and nature with beaches, pristine calm waters, enormous green urban areas and strict environmental governance… all within 20km of the city centre. The most popular beaches are Penha, Seixas, Cabo Branco, Tambaú, Manaíra and Bessa.
Tambaú is the centre for beach life with a strong infrastructure, hotels, restaurants, an artisan market and a tourist information point.. |
The most well-known beaches on the coast with rock and cliff formations are Praia do Amor,
Jacumã, Carapibus, Tabatinga, Coquerinhos, Tambaba, Bela and Pitimbu.
There are kilometres of white sand, crystalline waters, vast coconut fields and cliffs of singular beauty with a variety of places to stay, bars, restaurants and tours.
Praia de Tambaba was the first beach in the Northeast to be officially designated as a nudist beach and is well-known for its ecological sanctuary. |
